Chess from Scratch - Learn to Play for Total Beginners!
$50 Advanced Registration. This four week class is for all ages with minimal to no chess experience. If you only know how the pieces move, or less, this class is for you! Over the course of a month I will go in depth and give you solid foundations on piece movement, checkmates, and all the rules of the game to be sure you will be ready to play anyone at any time! (And we will have a ROCKING time doing it!) NOTE: We will not play a single full game of chess until the final session! Leading up to that, we will play foundational activities that will ensure you are bringing your best game to the table. Foundational Chess Endgames
For 4 weeks, we'll focus on progressively challenging endgames for beginner and intermediate players to build a confident foundation. Classes will have a mix of instruction and paired practice with our chess friends. For our more advanced training, we'll be incorporating some bonus board vision challenges. Hope you can make it! Target rating: Beginners who know a few checkmate patterns - through Class D Players (~600 - 1400+ USCF)
