Coach Sorel, has been coaching beginner to immediate level adult and scholastic chess players for over 30 years. During this time period, he served as director at Ft. Eustis and Hampton Chess clubs, and chartered numerous parks and recreation before and after school chess programs. He has been a scholastic coach for elementary and high school chess players, served as a private and team coach at Deer Park Elementary as well as several K-5 and K-3 State Scholastic Chess Championship teams from the 1990's. Sorel is an active tournament director for local, regional and national level chess events, and is also a tournament player and HRCA coach.
Before you book
Coaches work independently. Lessons, payment and scheduling are arranged between you and the coach, not through the club. Parents of young players: see our drop-off policy for lessons held at the club.
